Hearth & Limen

A non-profit association for art, access and sustainable cultural practice

Who we are

Hearth & Limen is a non-profit association based in Zurich. We develop, produce and facilitate art and cultural projects across theatre, performance, dance, film and media.

Our work uses art as a medium for social participation. We support projects that create spaces for exchange, mutual understanding and cultural access, with a particular focus on intercultural and intergenerational dialogue and the social inclusion of people who have experienced exclusion.

Hearth & Limen is politically independent and non-denominational. The association does not pursue commercial aims and any funds are used exclusively for its statutory purpose. Its activities include the development and production of artistic projects, public presentations, screenings, performances, talks, workshops, participatory formats and educational work.

We are interested in artistic work that brings people into contact: across disciplines, backgrounds, generations and lived experiences. Our projects combine professional artistic practice with public accessibility and responsible working structures.

As a new association, Hearth & Limen was created to carry socially engaged artistic projects that need a non-profit framework. It is led by artists and producers with long-standing experience in film, theatre, performance, production, project development and cultural mediation.
